Review of She Belongs To Me(Southern Suspense#1) by Carmen DeSousa

She Belongs to Me (Southern Suspense, #1)She Belongs to Me by Carmen DeSousa

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hmm,okay..so..this one was a Kobo freebie and the blurb seemed good..

Honestly, this one started out really good.. But..

Alright then, here I go..

This was basically a novel based on flashbacks. We start from where Jordan, who is also a cop, finds his wife of 5yrs shot in the head .

What I liked was the romance build up.
How the author nicely kept the pace of flashbacks without making them confusing or irritating to understand because most authors do that!
So real good work there,author!

Also the hero was the most darling guy.
The heroine didn't deserve him TBH.

Drama, romance, a stalker, marriage, mystery and HEA..

Anyway,I was sure to give this one 4 stars.. But..

What reduced this to 3 stars was :

The absolute eye rolling moments:

• Where the long term deadly stalker named Brian who even in jail couldn't leave Jaynee alone. becomes a friend in helping solve the mystery and even goes as far as becoming best buds with the husband(Jordan) and pretending to be Jaynee's brother, which, I might add is the woman he has been in love with for a decade and has been constantly STALKING.
•The extremely annoying woman that was the heroine.
•The attempt at mystery and suspense by author that, quite frankly, wasn't in the least bit understandable.
Sorry not sorry.
